1st month

It has been a very busy last 2 weeks!

Last week we got to see almost all of Peter's family at some point or another.  We drove down to Columbus to meet up with Geoff, who had been taking his oral board exams (and passed-yay!)  Colin immediately latched onto him, and Uncle Geoff got to carry Colin around on his shoulders, sit with him at dinner, and chase him around stores at the outlet mall.  Maybe not the kid-free few days he could have had!

Then on Thursday morning (very early: 3 am), Janna, Ryan, and Addie arrived from Wisconsin.  It was really great timing; Claire woke up to eat shortly after we got them in and settled, and Colin never woke up.  We picked up Grandmom from the airport later that afternoon.  They were able to stay with us until Tuesday, when they all headed home.  We got to enjoy time at various playgrounds, the zoo, the Children's Museum, and Claire's baptism.  Colin and Addie loved playing together, and they were fun to watch.  They had to learn to share toys (and Grandmom), but they did a great job and were always excited to see each other after naps and waking up in the morning.

Claire was baptized on Sunday morning...one of the littlest ones who I've seen baptized in a while.  She slept through the whole thing, which is good because she screamed through the poor little girl's baptism last week.  

We can clean ourselves up if we try.

Claire is doing well.  We had her 1-month appointment this morning.  She was 22.25 inches long (97%), 9 pounds, 14 ounces (60%), and her head was 15 cm (90%).  She was very calm for all of the procedures, which is pretty unlike her.  Not particularly looking forward to starting vaccinations at her next appointment.  We've been back to full-time nursing for about a week and a half or so now, with much better results.  She still loves to sleep, day or night.  I still wake her up to eat every 3 hours during the day, or she would push it to 4 hours between feedings (and then wakes up every 3 at night).  When we wake her up during the day, we get longer stretches at night, which is what we both prefer.  We are not following the "never wake a sleeping baby" rule here.  She's kind of set herself on a schedule by waking up for the day around 6:30, and then Colin is usually up around 7:15.

We're looking forward to seeing friends for a birthday party this weekend and a lazy weekend otherwise.
