Bookshelves with books that need to be better spaced!
Just couldn't bear to get rid of the squares.
Excited to have a slightly more comfortable chair!

We had a great 3-day weekend over Easter. Working for a Methodist-affiliated University allowed us to have Good Friday off, and we took advantage of the day off together to spend it with Colin. We opted to go to the Children's Museum, as Colin hadn't been in a long time. Needless to say, it was one of the last days of Spring Break for most of Indianapolis' school systems, and it was rainy, so it was insane. Colin was very patient, and he got to do his favorite activities (watching the carousel, climbing, playing in sand/water, exploring the ball system, and trains). It wore him out nicely for a good nap. We went to church for Good Friday service, and he got to play with his friend Liam.
Saturday morning, we went back to church for the Easter Egg Hunt and to meet the Easter Bunny. We thought that we would have breakfast inside and come out to do the Easter Egg hunt; however, we ended up having breakfast outside (and it was 34 degrees). It was cold, cold, cold, but he was a champ.
Donuts and muffins do help.
So does running down the hall at church while we wait for eggs.
He was all talk about the Easter Bunny; however, he was completely unwilling to go near him on his own. He chatted to him from a distance, and then he allowed his picture to be taken with him when Peter was with him. We're not big into the posed pictures with Santa or the Easter Bunny, so this was the first time he's really been in that kind of a situation.
Finally we got around to the fun part...hunting for eggs. He totally got the concept, and he ran in and grabbed an egg. Then he saw the slide, and he no longer cared about the Easter eggs. We had to prompt him to pick them up and put them in his basket, because he just wanted to play.
Started off with such promise.
"Colin...do you see the egg? Put it in your basket!"
The slide is just so much more fun.
Later that day, we went to my parents' house for Easter dinner. He got to have another Easter egg hunt, and he did better. Casie helped him find eggs, and he cracked some open looking for candy. He also had a good time with a new bubble-lawnmower that Grandma got for him.
37 weeks pregnant...about the closest think you'll get to a belly picture.
I think he may have picked this up from me...
Today was Easter, and the only thing we had to do was go to church. We actually got a few family photos, too!
This was shortly before a man said to me, "You know, that Princess Kate is pregnant, too. She's hiding it better than you." Thanks.
So thrilled to see Grandma at church!
When we got home, we let him open his Easter basket and try out his new bike. It didn't end up being as relaxing of a day as we had hoped, but it was nice to spend a long weekend as a family of 3 for one of the last times.
