On the flip side, she is a much happier baby than she was at 1 month old. She loves to laugh at Colin, and she isn't as fussy as she formerly was. She goes down for naps and at bedtime easily, and she loves to eat (when she isn't too distracted by big brother). We still can't get her to roll back to belly, although I'm about 99% positive she can but doesn't want to. She spends approximately 5 seconds on her belly before trying to roll back over. We do lots of sitting practice with her, and she's still trying to figure out that balance between sitting upright and pushing herself over. She loves her bouncer, and she likes sitting at the dinner table with us and shoving all of her toys off of the high chair.
Those few seconds before...
...she pushes herself over and rolls onto her back.
A tiny smile...
...but the biggest ones are for Colin. She was cracking up at him!
I think daycare has been good for Claire. They have a new app that they use to log diapers/food/naps for all of the kids, but they're really good about posting pictures of Claire, and she always seems happy. She gets to go for walks in the stroller and play with lots of toys. Her naps are all over the place there, but she's doing better. She's out of the swaddle now, which we chose to do not because she rolls in one direction but because after 3 months of age, they aren't allowed to swaddle at daycare. I figured we would teach her to sleep that way here at home as well. She sleeps very well in the Magic Merlin Sleepsuit.
Hard to believe we're a quarter of the way through this semester already at work. It always goes by so fast, and it doesn't help that now we come home and run through the motions just to get the kids fed, played with, bathed, and in bed so that we can work out and go to sleep! It's nonstop from 6am until 10pm every day here.
Some of Claire's 5-month pictures. She is STILL tough to get a smile out of!
