6 months

Somehow Claire is now closer to her first birthday than she is to the day she was born.  It's been a whirlwind 6 months.

She's still not sleeping much better, although we're down to 2 wake-ups a night instead of 3.  We started supplementing formula so that she could get larger bottles, and she started eating solids, which I think has helped her last a little longer at night.  It also allows for Peter to be able to do one of the two feedings, so I'm getting a little more sleep.

Sweet potatoes were a hit.  She has liked everything we've tried so far.

No teeth yet, although she had a really pointy place on her gums last weekend that seems to have since disappeared.  She started rolling back to front occasionally, typically when she wants a toy badly enough.  She sits independently for brief periods of time, and she's getting much better at that.  She's been a pretty happy kid as we settle into a work/home routine.

 I see this in our future. A lot. He said he wanted to be in the pictures but didn't want to sit on the chair.

Two blue-eyed cuties.

We've had some pretty beautiful October weather here, so we have had lots of opportunities to be outside on the weekend.  We all went to the playground a few weekends ago, where Colin always has a blast.

He's finally getting better at being able to hang on to this swinging apparatus by himself.

Of course the one day that it was pretty cool, we went to an apple orchard near my parents' house.  We didn't stay for a very long time, but it was fun to go to a different orchard than we have in the years past.

And finally we have started our trick-or-treating season early.  The University does trick-or-treating in the dorms for the kids, so we went on Thursday.  We're hoping to go and do ZooBoo this afternoon, as well as trick-or-treating on Halloween.

He picked out his costume this year, and he wanted to be a "Dinosaur Rider."  So we bought him a Jurassic Park t-shirt to attempt to tie the look together.  It was fun to see all of the college kids' reactions to him.  He was such a trooper, and he carried his candy bucket all over the place.

Our next goal is to survive until Thanksgiving.  November is my busiest month at work, as well as Peter's.  He has concerts and events galore, and I have to teach my busiest amount of the semester.
