Beach time and a sick corgi

Lots to update! First, we'll start with Charlie. We got the lab results back regarding the mass removed from his mouth, and they reported that it's benign. We were extremely relieved to hear this, and we actually heard the voicemail when we landed in Indy after returning from the beach. However, we returned home to Charlie coughing, wheezing, and vomiting constantly. We asked our dogsitter if he had done that at all while she was here, and she said he hadn't. We decided to give him a day to possibly pass whatever was maybe upsetting his stomach. Tuesday evening, he was no better. Every time he moved he started coughing/wheezing, although nothing was coming up anymore. We called the vet, and she said she thought he might have picked up kennel cough from his stay at the vet's office and called in some antibiotics for him. Thank goodness we didn't have to take him back into the vet! He started those on Wednesday morning, and as of today (Sunday), he is much better. Still a little wheezy occasionally, but we think once he's finished with his medicine, he'll be okay. Ella has been vaccinated, and she has shown no signs of picking it up.

Away from sick corgis, and onto our long(ish) weekend at the beach. We left Friday afternoon/evening, with our flight being delayed due to the crazy derecho that blew through from Chicago to the east coast. Eventually, we arrived in Durham and spent the night with GG&Co. We got up in the morning on Saturday and were able to spend some quality time with our adorable niece...who remembered just how much she loved Uncle Peter.

We left a little after lunch and headed for Carolina Beach, got the keys to the rental, and dumped our stuff off before heading to meet up with almost the entire Horn clan (that's Peter's mom's side of the family, for those not in the know). We were greeted by lots of little munchkins, cousins, aunts, and uncles. It was wonderful to see everyone, and we even managed to get all of the kids there into a picture, only missing Jackson (and the 3 in utero).

Ben, Nathan, Tim, Cora, Allie, Alice, and Sarah, who is majorly cheesing for the cameras! They were so well-behaved sitting on the couch. In 2 more years, hopefully everyone can make it, and we can add 4 more kids onto the couch (at least).

The sisters were also all able to get in a picture with their cute little granddaughters. Next time, everyone will have at least one grandson, so we can try for a boy picture next time, too!

Sunday we got up early and went down to the beach before it got too hot so that the little ones could enjoy it (and so the big kids could watch Euro Cup finals in the afternoon). Cora loved the water, and she also liked playing in the sand with her second cousins.

The boys building a dam...Tim was really into this!

Little miss Allie...not willing to walk on the sand too much at this point! Cutest little bikini ever :)

 Sarah, checking everything out.

Cora took a long nap after the morning at the beach, but when she woke up, she was ready for some quality time with Uncle RyRy.

Almost all of us went out for seafood that night...and while we had to wait some extra time for unexplained reasons, Cora kept Peter entertained (or the other way around).

This was probably after she said something like, "Sit sit Peter."

After dinner, we headed out of town with GG&Co so that we could get a little extra sleep before leaving for the airport on Monday morning. Thankfully, our flights back were much better than the way out, and we got home in time to relax some that evening.

Colin and I are doing well...trying our best to stay cool in the 5+ days of over 100 degree heat we've had here. Today was the first relief we had, and I still think it got into the 90s. He's moving lots, and I've been feeling hiccups about once a day. We started childbirth classes last week, and I'm the most pregnant one in the room (only by a few days though). I think the class terrified some of the guys in the classroom, and Peter got to find out some of the more...unsavory details of pregnancy that I had been trying to keep from him, because they seemed unnecessary for him to know. He watched all of the videos they showed, and we liked the nurse teaching our class and her jokes about the goofiness/cheesiness of some parts of the video. Three more nights of those classes to go.

While I don't want Colin to come for at least 5-6 more weeks, I feel better knowing that my parents are back home from their trip abroad and don't have to worry about possibly having their first grandchild without them here to meet him! They brought him back some super cute clothes from New Zealand, particularly a rugby hoodie and a pair of sheepskin moccasins that are so soft and warm. We also got some new clothes from Aunt Casie (from a stack she already had), and GG&Co gave us some new shoes for Colin while we were visiting them as well. Hope everyone else is staying cool...less than 2 months to go now!
